The Story
There is always life after death.
After the big fires in the Cederberg everything was black and destroyed – but only for a short while.
Quickly the new fresh green trees and shrubs was appearing and the most beautiful flowers and trees appear.
In life it is the same – There is always something better waiting to happen after a setback.

The Story.
We moved from Howick in KZN to Clanwilliam in the Western Cape, South Africa
And for me it was a very big step. It was a new part of our country and a new adventure as a guesthouse owner.
I left my old familiar life (the tommie shoe) behind and step barefoot into the new life and
adventure.

The Story

What inspires me about Mr. Tutu is that he is a passionate critic of injustice and the voice of the poor and powerless. He constantly raises awareness of global crises like AIDS, global warming, and the need to advance peace and reconciliation worldwide. He also has the ability to convey difficult messages with clarity and compassion that make him a loved and respected man of our time. He has also proved himself as an inspired and prayerful leader whose spirituality is at the root of his concern.
Mr. Tutu played a huge role in uniting white and black South Africans in a peaceful manner.

The Story
The magnificent Maltese Cross is situated in the Cederberg close to Clanwilliam Western Cape.
The Cederberg is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and the sense of solitude they inspired. Sandstone caves and rocky overhangs shelter some of the region’s finest examples of ancient San rock art.

The Story.
It is the story of a tired mother trying to teach and protect her children by talking to them about life. In the same quilt the mother is also talking to God for help and inspiration and guides for trying to put her children on the right path.

The Story.

The name of the quilt is EDUCATION.  I start making it in October 2013.  Madiba was already sick, and he was an important figure in our history.  It was with my compassion for him and his family in mind that I constructed this quilt.
I have used the most powerful quote and put it on a blackboard. With Madiba teaching us word for word what he believes and strive for.
I hope to help share this wisdom with the rest of the world.

EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON WHICH YOU CAN USE TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
