This is a landscape. The background is an mountain range which could be in Europe of Africa. I am greatly influenced by Kirshner’s work and use of color. It also symbolizes my stay in Lesotho, experiencing the impact of nature on my creativity. It also shows my naked spirit in the surrounding of nature.
This quilt portrays the different nationalities of our country in the form of different woman’s faces. Not only does it symbolizes the freedom of woman, but also the art she practices. The quilt awakens an intense sense of self pride and what it means to be a woman in the art world. It also adds a new sense of personal liberation, self exploration and the ability for me as an human. Elements are also taken from nature for example the tree, which symbolizes the onward growing. The interlocking of the branches also represents the interlocking of humans with each other.
